Amaterasu/Shiranui is for sale (also known as the portable sauna of costumes)
. See all the photos I have in my gallery. This costume has been sold.

Amaterasu/Shiranui is from the video game Okami, this costume is based off the main character. The markings I have on this costume are technically the markings for Shiranui however Amaterasu/Ammy is the well-known wolf. This costume also includes Shiranui’s weapon, Solar Flare. You can put this costume on all by yourself, but you really need a spotter for..well…anything.

I wore this costume to the Nan Desu Kan 2012 costume contest along with my friend in costume as Kaguya, also from Okami. You will need a spotter wearing Ammy, and the Kaguya costume is for sale here daughterofshinra. At craftsmanship judging the judges adored Amaterasu so rest assured despite her flaws overall she is a gorgeous costume.

See us at the costume contest (when I couldn't see the ramp and looked like a fool and also thought I had to make my back legs super short for some reason and my friend was freaking out cause I clearly had no idea what i was doing)

It was made to fit me, however it is not perfect, the body is large and the stilts are short. If you have any concerns about it fitting you or questions on how to make it fit you just ask. I am 5’7” and 130lbs. My legs are on the longer side but not terribly so. The top of the handle on the stilts is about 14-15 inches off the ground. Measurements wise, that is basically all you need to know.

This was my first quadsuit and fursuit, but despite being my first (and last) fursuit she still came together very well. In general this quadsuit/portable sauna is extremely hot to wear which I’m sure comes to no surprise to fursuiters. The quad stilts are double jointed but they are not difficult to walk in as long as you pay attention to what you are doing and practice without the full body on, I think the double joints really put the icing on the cake though. This costume is also very hard to see out of. Again, I’m sure this is not a surprise to some, but you could not get around alone in this costume. You need a spotter at a con. You see out of Ammy’s mouth and through a small cutout with white fabric in the neck. There are two different kinds of fur on her, a longer, low quality fur making up the body and legs and tail and a shorter, better quality fur for the face, paws, and swirl designs excluding those on the tail. All of the red and black markings have been done with fabric marker and so far, nothing has bled or stained or anything, before she is shipped I have been working on making the designs bolder. Been pretty flawless thus far. Despite being extremely hot, you can’t help but feel awesome wearing her.

The stilts are the best part of the costume, made of PVC pipe and foam. The top PVC pipe is four inches wide, and closer to three and a half on the inside. My fist just fits around the handle and I have large hands. Again, the handle rests about 14-15 inches off the ground. If necessary, it would not be difficult for the handle on the stilts to be raised. They cannot be lowered. For the paw I got a picture of Ammy’s paw-print from the game and made it with vinyl, be careful on smooth floors. The claws are all handcrafted out of clay, I have not lost one yet but I will include the four extras that were originally dew claws.

The head was made foolishly, but it looks fantastic. Instead of using a helmet like a smart person I used a hat (but it’s adjustable eh?). The head connects under the fur to the body with buckles but for long periods of time I suggest pinning all the neck fur together to make it look smooth (which obviously it looks terrible in all photos..). The head is very heavy in the front so it needs to be connected to something in the back. The eyes were casted in resin, turned out hazy and I just rolled with it and since her eyes are just black in the game it made a nice effect. They have just a bit of red color in them to look good, and not like a demon. The nose was handcrafted in clay as well as the full set of teeth that rest in the black vinyl that lines the mouth.

The body was never technically finished. I did not want to put additional foam in the body to make her look better simply because I get claustrophobic, that is why her body fur is so loose. There is only some foam at the base of her tail to give definition to her back. If you are interested i still have quite a bit of foam left over and I will include this if you have interest in finishing the body. The neck fur is the messiest bit of this costume and I plan on doing my best before she is shipped to fix it up a bit, but I no longer have patience for this costume. The sleeves pull down over the stilts perfectly and you can do it yourself or another can help with it, but there is several inches that it comes down on allowing quite a bit of movement before you worry about them coming off. There is a zipper that goes all the way up the stomach, until you get to the lower neck that is velcro so you can quickly rip it off if you get too hot and need to breath fresh air. The back legs have foam that give definition to the front of the thighs and the back of the calves. The paws are literally socks. Works great for me, but I understand not everyone is as lazy as I am. There is more vinyl at the bottom of the back paws. The tail is not the lightest thing in the world but it’s not particularly heavy either. Still, I have a carabineer attached to the top of the tail that attaches to one’s belt loop to keep it from falling down.
Amaterasu/Shiranui Quadsuit Tail by jinxedcynder Solar Flare...upside down...? by jinxedcynder

Solar Flare is foam and fabric, and I painted the design on. It is attached on her back so you can take it on and off. Right now it’s only attached with two claw hooks (yes like for jewelry) but it works great.

This costume has been sold.
